Terms of service

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By creating an account or using MosaicEarth, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and any feature-specific terms shown before an action. You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If you use MosaicEarth for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.

2. The service

MosaicEarth is a network for geospatial assets. It lets users process source imagery through MosaicEarth-managed processing or a compatible user-selected node; import finished geospatial files; prepare web visualisations; georeference, organise and share assets; publish eligible assets; acquire public assets; and combine owned assets in MyMosaics.

MosaicEarth is not a substitute for independent professional verification, surveying certification, cadastral records or safety-critical analysis.

3. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate information, keep credentials and private sharing links secure, and promptly notify us of suspected misuse. External identity providers control their own authentication service. You may not share an account in a way that bypasses limits or impersonate another person or organisation.

4. Your content and operational permission

You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant MosaicEarth a non-exclusive, worldwide permission to host, copy, validate, convert, optimise, stream, display, back up and deliver that content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the service and carry out your visibility, sharing, publication and acquisition choices.

You confirm that you have the rights, notices, permissions and lawful basis needed for all imagery, coordinates, models, people, properties, third-party datasets and metadata you upload. You must not publish material under the MosaicEarth Standard License if third-party restrictions prevent the permissions that licence grants.

5. Processing, imports and original files

Results depend on source quality, metadata, settings, software and infrastructure. Web viewers use optimised derivatives and may display less detail than the downloadable original. Estimated costs and completion times are not guarantees. MosaicEarth is not your sole backup: keep an independent copy of important source and result files.

6. Private, Premium and public assets

• Private project: its unpublished result files are available to the owner and authorised viewers for the standard private period, currently 15 days, unless Premium is active or another rule is displayed.
• Premium project: Premium protects eligible source and unpublished result files for the whole project while the subscription remains active. If Premium ends, the standard private retention period applies as shown in the platform.
• Public MosaicAsset: publication is selected separately for each result. A project may therefore contain public and private assets at the same time. Published assets remain discoverable and downloadable under the recorded licence unless removed for legal, safety, rights, quality or policy reasons.

The interface shown before publication is authoritative for the selected asset, price and licence. Publication cannot normally be reversed merely to withdraw an acquisition already granted.

7. Publishing and the Standard License

Unless another supported licence is expressly recorded, an eligible asset published today is offered under the MosaicEarth Standard License v1.0. The publisher remains the licensor and confirms the right to grant that licence. Acquiring an asset does not transfer ownership of the original.

8. Mosaic Credits, payments and Premium

Mosaic Credits are a closed internal service balance used for eligible processing and acquisitions. They are not cryptocurrency, electronic money, a bank deposit or an investment, and they cannot be withdrawn as cash. Prices, applicable taxes, subscription periods and renewal terms are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe and may also be subject to Stripe's terms.

Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer cancellation, conformity or refund rights. Credits already consumed for a completed processing job or acquisition are not refundable except where required by law or expressly stated.

9. Acquisitions and downloads

A completed acquisition adds the asset to MyAssets and records the displayed licence and version. It does not transfer copyright. You are responsible for checking whether the asset's quality, accuracy, date, coverage, rights and format are appropriate for your use. Do not redistribute the original or use it outside the recorded licence.

10. Acceptable use

You must not upload unlawful, malicious, deceptive or infringing content; expose personal or restricted geospatial data unlawfully; probe, overload or disrupt the service; inject automated projects or registrations; bypass limits or security controls; scrape protected content; manipulate credits or payments; or use MosaicEarth to harm people, property or infrastructure.

11. Moderation and enforcement

We may inspect reported or high-risk public content, disable an individual asset, correct clearly erroneous placement or metadata, suspend an account, preserve evidence or remove content where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law or enforce these Terms. Where appropriate, we will notify the owner and record the administrative action.

12. Third-party services and availability

MosaicEarth relies on providers such as cloud infrastructure, maps, processing nodes, authentication and payment services. We work to provide a reliable Beta service but cannot promise uninterrupted availability or permanent compatibility with every external node, browser, format or provider. Planned maintenance and incidents may temporarily affect access.

13. Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by law, MosaicEarth and user-published assets are provided “as is” and “as available”. MosaicEarth does not guarantee survey-grade, cadastral, engineering or safety-critical accuracy. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by unlawful user content, or decisions made solely from an unverified preview. Nothing limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Closing an account

You may request closure using the data deletion procedure. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, security risk, fraud or legal requirement. Licence and transaction records may need to remain where necessary to document rights already granted to other users.

15. Changes, law and disputes

We may update these Terms to reflect service, legal or security changes. Material changes will be communicated when appropriate. These Terms are governed by Spanish law, without removing mandatory protections or jurisdiction available to consumers in their country of residence.
